Keeping Up Your Motivation to Lose Weight

One of the biggest obstacles in trying to lose weight is not the diet or exercise but having the motivation to lose weight and not giving up.  Here are a couple of things you can do to keep focused and motivated to reach your weight loss goal.

Steer Clear of Temptation — Being smart is part of staying motivated to lose weight. If your favorite things to eat are around you all the time, you are more likely to cave in, so throw all those things away or get it out of the house. If a bag of chips is in the kitchen and you are craving it real bad, you will probably cave in and say “well..just this once”, sorry buddy but you have lost the game. You have a better chance of sticking to your diet if you keep those temptations far away from you.

Set Realistic Goals – Have goals that can be easily attainable. Just think how motivated you’ll get if yo have a goal that is attainable motivation to keep losing weight. Don’t try to lose weight too fast because you are more likely to stick to it if with a slow and steady weight loss and it’s also healthier.

Reward Yourself — If you’ve done a good job by stick to your weight loss routine, reward yourself. Rewarding yourself will make you feel positive about your weight loss plan and will give you a good shove during those really hard times.Reward yourself with your favorite dish or something you wouldn’t have normally.

Go Easy on Yourself —If you haven’t met your goals for the week or month, don’t beat yourself up about it. Your not going to lose weight feeling down that you didn’t meet you goals. Use those times as a way to sit back and examine what can improve in your weight loss plan.

Stay One Step Ahead of Hunger – Being hungry all the time isn’t going to help you on your diet. You need to stay one step ahead of hunger, eat several small meals a day instead of the usual 3. Spreading out the calories through the day can help you feel more full in between meals. Drinking water is not only healthy for you but it help fills your stomach up so you don’t feel as  hungry.

Find an Activity that You Enjoy — If you want to really lose weight make weight loss fun, it can help motivate you to lose weight. If playing soccer is fun for you, try joining a soccer league. If your more into swimming go the the local community pool. Doing things that you love to do is a great way to lose weight because you don’t have to force yourself to do it.

Hopefully this has given you several and different way to help motivate you and stick to you weight loss plan. By staying motivated and persistent weight doesn’t have to be that difficult. Follow these easy tips to lose weight quickly.
